Hehehe

Even more reason to leave mine safely locked up in the freezer until I learn what the hell I'm doing. 8O

Great work - I liked the Tri-X sequence in the room with the mic. What lights did you use, and what f/stop range were you in? I'm going to shoot some Tri-X on 16mm in the next few weeks (new emulsion) and it looks like it worked out well for your video.

I lighted the b/w woodpanelroom scene with 2 1,2kw bounced against a
white wall...during the shooting I had the feeling
that the contrast might come out too flat
(i think the difference from light to
dark parts on the face had a measured lattitude of only 1-2 fstops), but it turned out fine...

for the boxing scenes i used a 1,2kw from the back and another
from the front/above plus a hand held 500w pointed
directly at the points of interest...nothing bounced
so it came out looking more contrasty...liked the results, too

I had the lens open at 1,8 at both scenes...

well yeah...the 7240
that was the first time i used it...and i am pretty
confident that the results could be much sharper..
but the cellar scene had to be done real quick and i used
the schneider ultrawide lens for that...it has
to be focussed with the schneider optivarons
macrofuntion and that jumps out of its
position really fast.....same setup worked
fine in the b/w woodpanel room scene, but in
the cellar i did not take my time :(..so lots of
out of focus shots there (besides the supposed to be
out of focus shots!!)

the other 7240 scene was done during a wet night (snow/rain)
and i had to fight humidity on the lens..so that
shot was too hectic for my taste..
everybody was tired so once again i did
not take the necessary time...

lighting the scene with car headlights was
very experimental,too...the light meter said no,but
i went for it...its ok...but i should have
concentrated on more closeups for that one......

..the blue streak at the beginning timelapse....

well, that was my fault...thats some older experimental
footage and i watched it several times on a lousy
projector, causing the damage.....
but I like it like that....in contrast
to that the whole footage at the
end of the video (city/bridge impressions) on k40
went straight to telecine after coming back from kodak lausanne
and its almost too clean for my taste..though its
good to see how good k40 super8 can look.....

thanks

christian

>christian, I have no clue what the guys are saying, however it sounds like I hear some english every now and then. Can you tell us english-speakers what the song is about?

well, first of all...its not just one song
its a, what we call snippet-video of the guys actual ep-release
it incorporates outtakes of 5 of the eps 12 songs and is
supposed to give an overview of the whole record...

hiphop records gets promoted by give-away snippet tapes (audio)
as marketing tools...
so I thought..lets elevate this to the visual side of things...

lyracly most of it is the usual bragging and boasting stuff
besides the last track which adresses some personal
struggles the artist had to manage (family member suffering
from cancer etc..etc)

the first song has the bottom line that there is too much
bling bling involved in todays hiphop like
people renting luxury cars for their videos, dressing up
like clowns..making fools of
themselves.... making it hard sometimes
to say that we are loving hiphop (serious hiphop)
by kids stuff like 50cent and eminem..
and thats not what we want to be compared with...
