Minoltina 8 power source
Is anyone familiar with this camera? I would like to know what battery or batteries it uses. In the pictures I’ve seen, there appears to be a compartment for a small cylindrical cell top right on the body. I would not expect this to drive the film, so wonder if there are other batteries, perhaps in ...

Re: Canon Autozoom 814 electronic not working?
I had one of these and I thought it took six AA cells? Four in the handle and another two in a compartment on the body near the film door. It wasn't obvious without instructions that you needed the other two. Maybe it was a different model 814?

The 35mm version for stills is listed in the catalogue of a UK photo supplier, with a price, for delivery in November.kontrabass888 wrote:Well, I just wish that Kodak could bring their ektachrome back to the market as the news they released in the beginning of the year.

What have you been working on lately?
The pick-up tools I was thinking of are called Hobby Pal suction pick-up tool and Model Pal suction pick-up tool. They re made in USA. One is more expensive than the other, but the basic one looks ideal for lifting and placing lens elements. I can't see the tacky type, but the suction ones are a bet...

Re: What have you been working on lately?
So the lens is just 3 elements huh? I've got a Yvar c-mount like that. Were you able to get it back together nice and clean? I'm still having trouble getting them back together without leaving fingerprints on any of the elements. Are you wearing gloves for the re-assembly? It makes things a bit eas...

Re: What have you been working on lately?
Yesterday I disassembled a clip-on mount 1½ inch, f/3.5 lens for Bell & Howell Filmo 8s. It bears the name TELATE and is a Wollensak. It was also available with the ⅝"-32 thread. B. & H. defined an A, a B, a C, and a D mount for their cameras, the latter two are better known. This lens...

I also wondered about this! There seems to be plenty to allow for a leader.

Re: Camex (Regular 8mm) Cellux Reflex
There should be something about this camera on the internet. Have you tried a search for Ercsam Camex? That should produce something.

Re: Zeiss Ikon M811
It looks like you turn the big silver ring on right side one quarter turn clockwise and the film door should open on a hinge towards the rear. That's from looking at a picture online. If that doesn't work, check that there is a hinge down the back. It looks that way on the picture. If so, the catch ...

Re: Regular 8mm Black & White Print
I found that if I project a negative upside down it will bounce! The negative will project solidly if it is done right side up. That was strange. It may effect prints. I developed reversal and am trying to perfect doing that. I am real close to getting it right. I post my results and procedures so ...

I think you are in England? You could contact John White Projector Repair. Web is the8mmshedshop.co.uk 020 8204 8434 07815 987317 I don't know anything about this service, other than that it is for projector repairs including Eumig, and is based in England. I hope it is of some help. Alex Sent from ...

Leicina 8s meter
I have two of these cameras, and am hoping to use one on holiday. This is the Standard/Regular 8 model with interchangeable converter lenses. The motors run ok, but I'm not sure about the metering and auto-exposure system. I've put a 1.4V alkaline hearing aid cell in it. The meter needle moves in th...

Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?
For 16mm I use the Kodak Lab, which used to be iDaillies, I am pretty sure they will start doing Super 8 soon, especially when the new Super 8 camera comes out. I have used Cinelab London too and they are just as good. For Super 8 I process Ektachrome at home, but for negative I send my films to Ge...

Re: Who's Left Shooting 16mm?
Far from leaving 16mm, I am using it more and more. Some find it hard to believe, but these days there isn’t much cost difference between Super 8 and 16mm. I am finding 16mm much easier as I can send exposed film to London for great and quick processing. I feel 16mm was ‘owned’ by professionals and...

Re: P1 vs P3
I have a P3. It has been in storage in my shed for 22 years. I dug it out about two weeks ago and it all works. It has a simple manual zoom lever if the power zoom fails. The lens has survived well with no sign of fungus or haze. I would look for examples of both models, and pick the best one you ca...
