I was thinking of maybe playing around with this format. Does anyone know if there is any good equipment, film stock available?
Toby
is 9.5mm still available?

Contact Grahame Newnham for film and processing in the UK:

Also, see Group 9.5, the 9.5 mm film club in the UK:

If you're in North America, things might be a bit more difficult for you. The format is much more common in France and the UK for historical reasons.

Try emailing Roy Salmons at
roysalmons@supanet.com
He loads lots of film into the 9.5mm cartridges, processes the film, and sells an excellent book about the history of the format and cameras.
He is located in Wales

There used to be an American 9.5mm club but it seems to be dormant for now. I met the president of the club a few years back at a camera show in Houston. He showed me his Pathe which he had converted from 16mm to 9.5mm. He got his film from overseas and had it processed there as well. I saw a 9.5mm Bolex show up on eBay once. I do have a 9.5mm Bolex projector in my collection (it was a dual 16/9.5 model but I don't have the 16mm parts for it).
