Are you sure it's the same price for 8mm and 16mm? Pretty sweet, if it is...shecky wrote:anyone used these guys for telecine? they have been great to me with developing and they offer telecine for .14/ft for super 8 and 16mm reversal.
FWIW, I'd be very surprised if a lab with quality processing dropped the ball on the telecine...shecky wrote:just wondering of anyone has any opinions on the quality of their work.
Don't they have a sample clip or some way to showcase the product? I know I don't. I should get on that.

Yes, it's quite good, IMO. I believe my brother had some stuff done there, then had some done at Colorlab. The Colorlab footage seemed sharper, although that may have been due to a lens or film stock change. I have some stills at my website,

Here's one, although it doesn't tell you as much about the telecine as it does about the lens and film stock.

I got the scene-by-scene transfer for $.18/ft. It's not much more than the $.14 one-light, and I thought it was worth it.

I sent this email to Cinelab.freddiesykes wrote:So how much does Cinelab charge to telecine super 8 B&W? I can't seem to find it on the site..
And got this answer.I notice from your site that you process super8 200T. Do you also transfer it to video? If yes then what price? Is it rank, workprinter or chain?

Yes we process it and also transfer it to video. Processing for all types of Super 8mm Color Negative is $15 per cartridge.
We can transfer it either on the Rank or on a Chain, it depends on what you want.
Super 8 telecine on the Rank is 25 cents per foot for a best-light transfer. Scene-to-scene color correction for Super8 on the Rank is 32 cents per foot.
There is a $50 minimum billable charge for the best light and $75 minimum billable charge for the color corrected transfers.
Film Chain transfers are $10 per cartridge with a $30 minimum billable charge.
With either method we can transfer to MiniDV, DVCam, BetaSP. DVD, VHS, Firewire Hard Drive, etc..
We can supply you with the tape stock for the transfer for a nominal tape stock cost, or you can also provide your own tape(s) if you would like.
Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks for the Email.

Thank you, Actor. Very good information to know. Has anyone had their footage transferred to DVD as a .avi file before with them? Evan and I had a short talk about it - theoretically it should be the same quality as if transferred to MiniDV, but if anyone has done it before, let me know.
Bob, you have a PM waiting.
