Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

It is understandable that labs will/can not have a processor ready for a limited quantity of film of one brand. I am not sure how Foma expects the labs to process the ciné film. Do they advice labs on using machines. How they keep/get the grit out off the bleach? On a small scale things work best...

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

The bleach is the tricky part on the Fomapan R100. The film has a peculiar anti-halation which must be cleared by the bleach. It results in a gritty substance which muct be washed out fully after the bleach. When not done so the grit may stick to the film and result in speckles on the film. Improper...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

I believe film cost will come down drastically, in the future...due to new techniques in manufacturing being spurred by 3-d printing and 3-d bio-printing The thing about 3-D printing is that you can create one-offs and short runs efficiently, but if you already have the plastic dies, injection mold...

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

I don't see that much brown but it looks bit like improper/insufficient bleaching. I had something like that when I tried to reuse the Permanganate bleach on a second film. Even without that much time between film it was not working that much any longer :( So I stick with single-shot usage when usin...

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

Sorry for misadventure with eBay / Paypal, I have to find an acquaintance who has the bank account, otherwise I can not use the bank transfer method. :( I'm not an expert on international banking. If there's some way to get a money order (bank check) that is in USD, you could mail that to me. I'm s...

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

Is anyone aware of 8mm sources other than: - kahl - wittner - schwind/ifb ? I'm thinking of putting a list of links on my website. The more sources there are for 8mm film (and related products and services), the longer the format will last. Fomapan R100 is available in Double-8, Double-Super-8 and ...

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

Mind that a number of these Kahl products are including processing and return inside EU.

And they, by choice, don't favour doing business outside EU or be addressed in English :(

Re: Regular 8mm Tri-X is now available

Sorry to read such a story. Heard of such before but never experienced it myself. Although I don't sell that much. One aquaintance got an expensive camera back of which the perfectly good lens was swapped for a broken one. Generally things go well but some buyers are crooks. And I learnt personally ...

Neat idea though.
Standard disclaimer translated by google. Like on any machine which handles film or databearers.

Wonderful consumer scanner for Super-8 from the East

I noticed this mentioned on http://www.filmvorfuehere.de http://www.thanko.jp/shopdetail/000000002560 Very much like discussed here before. I always wondered why there weren't such devices being manufactured already. Possibly costprice was still too high to allow mass marketing. This looks very much...

Thank you!
Cinéfix is the standard cement from Agfa which has always used by amateurs to edit their reversal film.
Or was this name adopted by another company?

Re: No news from Ferrania is not good.

Work is in progress in the factory site. Things are far more complicated than taping the windows with black paper and crancking up a few machines. Their website is updated now and then. Millions have been spent on equipment.
