Re: P1 vs P3

Hi Pamela! Those are beautiful cameras. Bolex had its unique style and look. Great cameras that last a long time. I have a R16 which I enjoy. I can't really comment on the P1 vs the P3 cameras (I'm sure someone else can?!), but one source for Regular 8mm films is through John Schwind at Internationa...

Any "old" film books you recommend?

Anyone into old films, filmrestoration and that kind of work? I'd like to recommend a book called Nitrate Won't Wait . Interesting historical facts about Nitrate film. I also have bought several other books over the years related to filmrestoration and scanning/postproduction. I was wondering if any...

Forum CHANGELOG (post bugs here)

Since last night I've been working on a big upgrade of the server and forum software. Turned out to be more complicated than planned. While everything seems to be working again now, I still have some configuration and designstuff left to do. If you notice any errors, please write them in this thread...

AEO-Light is awesome software. We use it all the time.

Btw, great filmstrip. Would love to see one of these. I have never seen more tracks than 2 here in our facility.

Re: RetroScan Universal Operating Question

Hi Mack and welcome to the Filmshooting forums! What you are seeing (I'm pretty sure) is hair or dust in the cameragate that has blocked the light when passing through the lens and onto the film. This causes an exposed hair/dustparticle on the film like you see. You can't get it away unless you want...

Re: Hello from FILM Ferrania!

Are there any issues with shipping film internationally? Specifically with x-rays...I'm thinking that DHL or FedEx would be safe that way... They X-ray just as much as anybody else in my experience. We've been shipping with DHL and FedEx many times - and also the regular postal service. Never had a...

New filmscanner from Germany

Anyone heard of this before?

http://www.korn-manufaktur.de/index.html

Seems to cover all formats in 2K and 4K and looks to be pretty much focused on post-produduction and workflow.

Price is around $ 50K I think.
