Re: Bolex H16RX and FOMApan R100: does it run OK or not?

The price, taking into account that it is in dollars, suits me. I really need a Vision3 in 8mm (50 or 200), I was planning to take it from a lab that cut.
Thank you for pointing, I had gone to Denis's webpage, but I had only seen the page with little boxes and not this page. Thank you, Simon.

Re: Bolex H16RX and FOMApan R100: does it run OK or not?

It's an old post, Simon, maybe they had given some wrong data to the user; eftectively, me too was not in agreement with the measures... Meanwhile, as you can see, I'm continuing to look for possible solutions to my "problem", before I do (sooner or later I have to do it) to my Bolex an overhaul. To...

Re: Bolex H16RX and FOMApan R100: does it run OK or not?

I resume this old discussion because it could be a current problem: I've never had any slowdowns problems with my Bolex H8 Rex 4, with all brands of film (Fomapan R100 25/30 feet included), but now something like this happened to me: with a Fomapan R100 100 feet film, at arrived at about 30 feet, ha...

Re: The State of Double Super 8

Wittner has the ability out to sniff out remainder stocks. Usually the stocks are from Afga. Foma 100_R and Orwo UN54 are the only B/W stocks currently available as fresh stock. I have been working with Kodak for 20 years. Generally they don't think out side the box. I doubt any attempt to get DS8 ...

Re: Your Experiences Using Expired B/W Film

Andrew, on Lealar's channel, which ones are shot with expired films? There are also many good films, also as a subject and form, as well as excellent scans! I have a question for everyone: have you ever tried Soviet emulsions? B&w or color. Not from the DDR like the Orwo. Do you know what developmen...

Re: Your Experiences Using Expired B/W Film

You're right David, if the film was freezer, 1 stop or more can be too much.
I was talking about very dry films, but even with this examples a half a stop would be enough. The ideal is to try various openings at different times, with difference scenes.

Re: Can I pop in Fomapan 33'/10m DS8 in a Canon Zoom DS8

I use Fomapan R100 DS8 of 10 meters with a Pathé DS8 camera, rewinding it on a 30mt spools, without any problem. :)

Re: Your Experiences Using Expired B/W Film

My experience has always been positive, even if I don't personally develop (apart from some Fomapan), but I leave it to the laboratories. Without asking push or pull, I limit myself to open iris more (or set the Asa appropriately). It's said open one stop for ten years from the expired date, I think...

Re: Zeiss splicer

Hello David, I have seen the Stanco and the Maier-Hancock, it's true, they are available at low cost. In Stanco I can't see where is the tool for scratch, of Maier-Hancock I saw a video and I understood. Maier seems to me to be mechanically better. Do you think these electrical heating splicers can ...

Re: sony wmd6c Gebuhrmultisyn

Oh, really, it costs so much! It must be a great quality! I use a Philips cassette recorder (I also like sound of audiocassette) connected to the Fujica ZC1000 with the cable that produced the Fuji itself. The recorder starts and stops with the release button of the camera, but the lip sync is a dif...

Re: Tripod Talk

Also in Italy it's necessary to ask permission to use the tripod, but not the monopod. I consider an heavy tripod absolutely necessary when there is a zoom or macro function. There are light tripods on the market, for photography, which in these situations make everything tremble, also with cable re...
