How much would you pay for a Kaccema cart, excluding shipping?

I will just check to see if there is enough demand for me to start importing and reselling them. (I am not trying to make money, but trying to help the board members get hold of them).

I'm sorry, I'm still a total newbie on anything else besides K40 and Ektachrome VNF. What's Kaccema? Color or b/w? Reversal or negative? And I hope it's S8?

It is a Super8 cassette that you can open and reload:

So it's just an empty reloadable cartridge? I don't know about the price of those Kaccema cartridges but you can get reloadable cartridges also from Kahlfilm ( http://www.kahlfilm.de ) for 18 Euros each, though only if you also buy film. Anyhow, they also have an own S8 40 ASA color reversal stock called KAHL UT 18 CHROME so maybe that could be our new 40 ASA color reversal stock? It's 29 Euros per cartridge though, processing not included.

The general conception is that Kahl's filmstocks suck badly. And the company is not recommended to be dealt with. If you want a gritty look, then that's ok.

btw i voted $20 even though i'm not desperate. with today's crazy exchange rates $20 is *nothing*. if you can get them for less i'll buy a few for sure.

I was planning on setting up a small distribution mainly to members of this forum. But the availabilty is ever changing.

All cassettes are used, but functional. They will last for many years.

I assume that the idea of a re-useable cartridge is that one loads/unloads and develops the film oneself? Does that mean we have to buy the film in bulk somewhere and buy a processing tank?

Yes, you are quite right Hassan. You can buy DS8 film and split. A film like Fomapan would be perfect for this matter since development is also cheap.

I paid around U$S 9 each to Olex Kalynychenko in Ukraine, four years ago. These Kaccemas are used, but works OK, the Kahl ones are brand new.

If you import them, I'd buy a few at $10-15 USD. This thread neatly coincides with Kodak killing K40, and has got me thinking about home processing some black and white films... coincidence?

Do these reloadable cassettes resolve pressure plate issues or are we still working with cheap plastic and the problems that come with that?
