Great
but WMP for Mac won't play it, I guess I will have to wait for the QT version.
Thanks anyway,

the end credits are too large and look like cheap video or even a karaoke disc. plus i think it's cheesy to have the same name appear too many times in a credits list. "post production by" should cover it. oh, and available is spelled like i just did.

as for the film itself you already know i think it's great. are you submitting it to any festivals?

Thanks for your comments Mattias. I will redo the end titles as you suggest. (A new version will replace the current version tomorrow I think)

Questions:

Do you mean the font is too large or the text is too long?

Could you explain again how to avoid jittery rolling titles in Premiere? Something that it have to move an even number of pixels per frame?

And yes, it will be sent to Festivals - just haven't had time to think about that yet.

too large. as small as you can make it and still have it look sharp and readable is the goal. you should be able to fit around 20 lines of text in one frame. if you want to make it look like a movie that is. if it's supposed to look like a tv production large is better.

yeah, that always works, but i've managed to create good looking credits that roll 1.87 or whatever lines per frame too. using frame rendering and field blending helps, plus you're probably best off starting with an image rather than a text generator.

cool.

Mesmerizing.... I really like what you've done here Andreas, everything from the concept to the final product. I wish I knew about this project in 2003. I would have loved to get involved. The only critique I can offer is - after watching the QT version - I noticed the music sounds a bit spishy (probably a QT compression problem)

I would love to see a well compressed DVD version of this.

Cheers, and again, good stuff!!!

Brilliant! I really enjoyed that. My only regret is that it happened in 2003 and I couldn't take part back then :(

However my camera and I are all ready for the next time lapse (or any other Super8 project).

Great film everyone! Now I dont have to go and rent Baraka again...
Yep, well done (damn, why didn't I take part of this. third time then)
The 2nd song with the woman singing didn't fit the film, but that's just my personal thought.

Really cool. :)

Hmmm, I wonder if I can be a part of the next timelapse project.... I´ll soon have the camera for it. :)

Maybe I could help with the scanning of the reels too, so Andreas doesen´t have to scan them all by himself. :)

WOW!
Awesome stuff- I think you may have a few more reels to deal with next time Andreas- do you think you'll cope! (there will be another won't there?) Its obvious that you put a huge effort into this, and not suprising it took so long, and everyones films are beautiful. Special congrats too to Jukka for the excellent sound track. Really polished.
I loved it all, and would love to have been a part of it. Didn't mind the titles either. The compression artifacts seemed appropriate, but I'd love to get the DVD version to see it in all its glory.
How did that driver make it through those trees!?! and those boats coming in sideways- fantastic stuff!
Maybe you could get Kodak to host it on their super8 page?
Can't wait to see the 2004 one!

A great film. A great project, too.

I'd love to participate, even if my footage winds up on the cutting room floor. Are you doing it again this spring?
