The sound of a little yellow envelope hitting the floor... It happened 5 times today, 5 rolls in the mail.

I have been very reluctant with using K-40 recently, but after seeing this footage I must say that I'm (again) surprised at how well it performs certain tasks. Outside in bright sunlight with a polarizer filter it looks absolutely brilliant. I will send it to Andreas for scanning shortly.

I remember this sound very well......and the excitement, too!

Maybe I should start filming again (I still have my Fuji and many other cameras-all working)

Yep. Amidst the noise of all the complaints about Kodak, its easy to overlook a simple fact. If you could only have one stock in your chosen format, it would just have to be Kodachrome. Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous. Now, how about giving us back some tungsten balanced stocks Mr Kodak?

Hey, I got a roll back today too, so I'm happy!!

Mostly random stuff shot in Swansea... just filmed using a couple of different low-end automatic car boot sale cameras, but still looks amazing, especially the stuff shot as the sun was going down... really nice light there by the ocean! Even the DV we also shot that day looked great colour-wise... very blue sea + orange side light... but of course the K40 is far nicer!

Some good apocalyptic footage shot from the train going past Port Talbot steelworks too... proper Blade Runner/Brazil industrial hell!

The roll was one of a few I got off ebay really cheap, part used, so the 1st half is someone else's home movie.... shot with a better camera than mine I think... looks very good. I'll send the guy his bits of footage back when I get the rest processed.

Yup, K-40 is nice! must shoot more!!!

Got a couple back today, myself. However I did'nt get the best results. The footage was of my trip to Scotland which has come out far too dark. It was my first time shooting K40 on overcast days an its clear I did'nt get my light settings right. Especially the shots in the car taken about 2 shot a second. Any tips?

Don't get me wrong though. There's something about that sound of the film coming through the door and the first time you set up the projector to see how its all turned out.

yeah.. when I started using B/W fomapan, I said to myself that I wouldn't spend any more money with K40... but my last 2 rolls arrived yesterday from switzerland and they're oh so beautiful.. gotta... buy.. more.. can't.. resist.. aaarghhh the pain! lol

Giving S8 K40 a rest recently,I have been shooting Regular8 colour stocks from retailers that provide the same and/or processing.Must admit to being a trifle dubious of the stock but that sound of the packet dropping through the mail is equally exciting.
My fears were totally unfounded.The film stock is very good quality with all the right contrasts in the right places.Daylight or converted Tungsten,they are both very reputable.
Admittedly the camera(s) used were good (Bolex B8L/Pan cinor zoom & a Nizo Heliomatic) but I am still very satisfied.
