Where to find ACL jaeger connectors

I just got my (early-ish French) Éclair ACL, and am wondering where I might be able to find a male Jaeger power connector (I believe it's a jaeger 530800)?

It came with a heavy duty cable that I want to keep intact. I am looking for a connector to create a short cable for on-board batteries.

I have a brand new one from my stock. They are $70 USD each. Plus postage.
Jaeger connectors are tricky to work with because you have to solder the wires to the pins and then use a special pin inserting tool to assemble them properly.
I also have the chassis side socket. They are $40 USD.

Huh, I guess I just expected them to be like XLR cables (easily soldered).

I'm currently in contact with Bernie about finding the plug, but it sounds like I'll have to have him assemble the whole thing for me. Do you think there is any reason a Tamiya connector would cause issues in a battery setup (it's what my batteries/charger have), or should I try re-soldering a Deans (or other) style plug?
