Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there has been able to resurrect a Fairchild 8mm camera? This camera has an internal rechargeable battery which went bad long ago... I opened up the camera and saw that the battery had leaked a little bit, but the motor seemed to look clean and free of any corrosion. The internal battery is labeled as a 12 Volt Nickel Cadmium rechargeable battery. I was wondering if anyone out there has been able to find a suitable replacement battery for this camera?
I'm more concerned about getting the camera to work, rather than finding a replacement battery. But I don't know if I can run the camera solely off of the charger cable, and not the battery. I tried doing this, but the camera did not start... I've thought about taking out the old battery and hooking up the battery leads to a 12 volt DC source, but I wasn't sure if that would be a good idea. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! There really isn't much info out there on how to get this camera up and running again....
Thanks!
