ABC Sitcom 'THE MIDDLE' Now Casting for JanuaryGENERIC

"The Middle", the hit comedy from ABC, is now casting an upcoming episode from Season Four which begins production in January.

From the producer of "How I Met Your Mother", this sitcom is about a semi-dysfunctional family and its attempts to survive life in a small Midwestern city.

"The Middle" stars Patricia Heaton, Neil Flynn, and Chris Kattan. The show is being written by Jana Hunter and Mitch Hunter, and it is directed by Phil Traill and Lee Shallat Chemel.

The series is being produced by Eileen Heisler, DeAnn Heline, and Werner Walian for Blackie and Blondie Productions in association with ABC.

FEMALES

["Hannah"], any ethnicity, 18 - Mid 20s. Hannah is a pretty, outgoing, and popular young woman who goes to school in Orson, Indiana. She is very talkative and full of energy, and has many close friends. Hannah is in charge of organizing a big social event on Valentine's Day, and the whole thing starts to go to her head. STARRING ROLE

["Amanda"], Caucasian, African-American, or Latina, 20s. Amanda is a cute, intriguing, and yet self-critical young woman who is in the middle of a rocky romantic relationship. Despite her attractive quality, Amanda is often shy and withdrawn around new people. CO-STARRING ROLE

["Miss Poltorak"], any ethnicity, 30s - 40s. Miss Poltorak is a caring, dedicated, and slightly overdramatic woman who is a teacher at Orson High School. She is an excellent professor and is well-respected by her students. She is attractive in a reserved way. CO-STARRING ROLE

["Emma"], Caucasian, 18 - Early 20s. Emma is a pretty and intelligent girl who still has a sense of innocence about her. She teams up with her friends Paige and Rachel to get revenge on Axl Heck and Sean Donahue by publicly embarrassing them at a Valentine's Day party. PRINCIPLE ROLE

MALES

["Evan"], any ethnicity, 18 - Mid 20s. Evan is a handsome, charming, and flippant young man with a sarcastic sense of humor. Evan is also something of a "ladies man"----he constantly seems to be dating a new girl every week. He dumps his current girlfriend on Valentine's Day, and she is furious at him. CO-STARRING ROLE

["Ralph"], any ethnicity, 20s - 30s. Ralph is a hard-working, down-to-earth, and trustworthy guy who works at the Orson quarry which is managed by Mike Heck. Ralph seems tight-lipped and guarded at first----he does not appear to be the type of guy who ever opens up about his feelings. CO-STARRING ROLE

["Wayne"], Caucasian or African-American, 40s - 50s. Wayne is a tough, stoic, and self-disciplined Midwestern guy who also works for Mike Heck at the local quarry. He is the last person in the world who you would expect to discuss his marital problems on the job. CO-STARRING ROLE

["Bill"], Caucasian, 30s - 40s. Bill is another Midwestern guy who works at the quarry with Wayne and Ralph. He is shocked and taken aback when his two buddies begin opening up about their personal problems. He doesn't know quite how to react. PRINCIPLE ROLE
