Filming titles

Post by Pj »

Hi
I need some advice with exposure when filming titles with Super 8. If I am filming white titles with a black backround how do I set the exposure? I read somewhere that the camera's meter will be fooled and you need to take a an average reading of a grey backround and lock the exposure. I am not sure can someone help?

Take a reading of the gray card - it'll be fine. You can make slight adjustment if you like, to aperture depending on whether you're shooting on reversal or negative film.

Reversal- Take a reading off a white card and open 1-stop.
