Wet Gate Fluid?

Does anyone know what type of fluid is used in the wet-gate telecine systems?

"The liquid used in wet gate printing is perchlorethylene, a fluid which, when it emerges into the atmosphere on the film coming out of the wet gate, turns into a noxious vapor. This, of course, takes the matter out of the realm of being merely a nuisance and requires appropriate corrective action."

We use 99% Isopropylene soaked into cloth makeup pads placed before the first feed sprocket of the projector. It's flammable and stinks...oh well...

Perchloroethylene is also known as "Tetrachloroethylene". It is most widely used by the clothing dry-cleaning industry. Labs that use it are very efficient in recycling it and not letting it cause contamination or health issues by using proper safety, health and environmental procedures:
