Very sad to hear John died. Cancer is a motherf--r. My uncle died of colon cancer a few years ago. He shriveled up just like John in only four months. Traditional cancer therapy (drugs, radiation treatment, etc.) is a farce. Although it may help some people recover, I'm willing to bet that it fails the majority of cancer victims. And all these fundraising campaigns in the US to "find the cure" are rackets. Plain and simple. All the hundreds of millions of dollars people have donated in the last fifty years (and continue to donate) and they still haven't found the cure?! Please. John was not only a cancer victim, he was also a victim of the pharmeceutical industry and the managed healthcare racket. Here's something I recently discovered: cancer thrives in an acidic environment. If your pH is acidic, you have a high rate of acquiring cancer. If your pH is alkaline, you will never get cancer. Do doctors ever explain this to their cancer patients? They didn't explain it to my uncle. The best way to keep your body chemistry alkaline is to lower your stress level, avoid processed food and soft drinks, drink lots of pure clean water, eat organic food, and shun all pharmeceutical drugs. My condolences to John's family.

My condolences to John's family, too.

John was realistic enough to know he never could win this. He was prepared for this. I am very happy for him he went away peacefully.
My dad may not have met many of you face to face but he considered you all his dear friends.

Please know he left this world at peace and much loved. Again, we cannot thank you enough for all your support you have shown over the past year and the friendship you gave him."
Mr. John Pytlak was a talented, awesome man.
You know what? He still is.

Fred.

Yeah he'll be sitting at a read-only terminal up there!

Very sad he's gone - one word sums him up in my dealing with him: dignity.

Talk about grace under pressure - some of the things he copped here - but regardless he stayed in touch and was the only person from Kodak around here that did.

I'm sure he handled his last days with the same dignity, and we're all the better off for his life and presence.

Condolencies to his family

Scot

I know where you're coming from.

A little over a year ago my father believed he was on his deathbed with pancreatic cancer. He'd gone from a healthy weight to almost nothing in a matter of two months. Even in hospital with a very real possibility he was not long for this earth he was writing technical reports for his field of work...thankfully he is today a walking miracle, one of the few pancreatic cancer patients to be cleared. He had the same operation Pavarotti had, at around the same time...and you don't hear much good news from Pavarotti these days...

My wife's father is not so lucky, we found out in June he has terminal pancreatic cancer and isn't expected to see another Christmas.

Cancer can be...as you say....a MF.

John faught his illness with a true bravery...and that word is bandied around a lot these days. John Pytlak showed dignity and true strength of character in that he was posting to this and other forums, helping people make films, right to the end...I am sure his family miss such a man greatly.
The government says that by 2010 30% of us will be fat....I am merely a trendsetter :)
