No, you will need the 500T... you may even need to push it to 1000ASA if it's pretty dim. But don't worry, the 500T can look very fine grain in situations like that, even pushed a stop.

I'm not really concerned about grain too much. I think super8 would look pretty cool in a club over minidv or whatever else they want me to use.

yeah in situations like that where you don't have control over the lighting, how the hell are you supposed to capture any atmosphere on miniDV? super8 is where it's at.

i prefer 200t in low light. the idea is that there wil be bright areas where 200 asa is enough and dark areas where not even 500 is enough, so expose for the highlights and benefit from the tighter grain on a slower stock rather than trying to pick up information that isn't there, only resulting in milky blacks and grain fest. it depends on the light though. i'm assuming very low key club lighting, but if it's more flatly lit but still dim, then 500t is a good choice.
