Sankyo

Post by P.w.Shelton »

Hey everyone,
I have a Sankyo XL-420s that needs a battery compartment door. Anyone know where I can find one?
Thanks,

Hey Patrick,

I don't have one but I'll put the word out to this guy I know who has a couple of these XL 420s.

Is the battery compartment in the handle? If so, its a part of the handle you need, right? Do you know if its the same as the XL 620?

BTW, how do you like this camera? I started with a Sankyo XL 600 and I liked it a lot. Always worked great and produced good images.

I'll let you know if I hear anything.

If this message post up here few days earlier. You will have a compartment door for FREE.

I had a Sankyo XL-420s which is completely "Dead"... the motor is dead, the zooming is dead and not smooth... len with fungi.

I'd sold it to someone else who just need it for display.

Use Polymorph.

Need to be good with your hands, modeling clay, etc... or find sombody who is good at it. Just put some into hot water and work it into shape.

I made a battery cover for my flea market Nizo 3056, using this new age polymer material. (I work at the mu bit of mutr, link below)

Thanks for the info guys,
To answer your question Tim, the battery compartment is on the handle
but I don't know if it's the same as the 620. As far as the image quality I haven't used the camera in a really long time. I had borrowed it when I was a kid to make a short film and I have just found it at my Father's house. It does power up with an adaptor and sounds fine. Interesting thought on malking a door from polymer, I didn't think of making one from scratch but it's worth a shot. The only thing is there has to be metal for the battery contacts. Come to think of it, I could destroy an old small flashlight.
Thanks,
Patrick
