reflex regular 8?
I tried using hte search function on this and didn't turn up anything, so forgive me if this has been addressed before...
Excluding the obvious H8 reflex--I know some of the Bolex regular 8 cameras have those Som Berthiot zooms on them, but do those allow for through-the-lens focusing? 'Cause my 16mm Som Berthiot doesn't. What about the Minolta Auto Zoom 8 or some of the other '60's Japanese regular 8 cameras?

I got hold of a Yashica u-matic R8 camera in a box of bits I got recently... it had power zoom and TTL focus (but external light metering).
I had no use for it, so have left it with my father-in-law for his collection

I have quite a few reflex regular 8mm cameras in my collection. These include a Bolex P2, Minolta Zoom 8, Canon Reflex 8, Yashica U-Matic, and an Emdeko Reflex 8 plus a few others. I have compiled a list of these cameras I can post later today. The list includes specifications of each camera such as zoom length, film speeds and autoexposure speed settings.

I began compiling the list when I started buying these cameras on eBay very cheaply. My requirements for bidding on them was regular 8mm, reflex zoom, and a pistol grip. Some have single frame and most have manual iris adjustment.schnozzle wrote:I'd be very interested in seeing a list. Single-frame might possibly be useful, although I admit I do almost all of my animation these days with a computer (sadly).

Here is the list of the reflex regular 8mm cameras in my collection. I have manuals for some of these so if you need one just ask and I'll see about scanning it. And if there is a particular camera you are wanting to know more about ask and I can make pictures to post here so you can see it in detail.

Look for a Canon 512 Reflex Zoom, or a Bolex K2. These have a zoom lens.schnozzle wrote:I'd be very interested in seeing a list. To use primes lenses - look for a Bolex D8 or B8 and maybe an H-8
