Help - Whats that effect???

Hi everyone been using super8 for a while now and have never known how to achieve an effect i really like, so just wondered if you can help.
It basically looks like a type of overexposure when a scene would cut,
i think it can be achieved with most film cameras but wanna try it on super 8 ? Any ideas?

Doesn't that flash happen automatically between shots when light rushes in again? Not sure.

just take the catridge out of the camera between shots.

i think your looking for film-burns, and i have wanted to try this myself. i wonder tho if i take the cartridge out will it only expose the frames showing or will light get in and ruin alot of the cartridge?
