2 Major questions please help

[Newbie kid using 8mm]

Im new to s8 and have two questions i need to get off my chest.

1) Kodack does free processing... the thing is do you people trust Kodack to process the film? (I hope this doesn't sound stupied even thou they make "FILM")

2) On the spit immage focussing it's a circle with a line trought it i guess. Does that mean the edges of your subject must be flush withn the circle for it to be in focus? Y/N

Kodak - in the UK less than a week and that includes the trip to Switzerland! Never had a problem with Kodak since circa 1962.
