Eumig 310XL - repairing

Post by munnin »

I received a camera yesterday - bought via eBay - that had no warranty of functioning... I tested it and it functioned pretty ok except for the optics part... it is stuck, the zoom barely moves although I can focus with it.

so...

does anyone have something like a repair manual or experience in dismantling Eumigs? I am about to perform some experimental super 8 surgery and would like to have some tips if possible...

thank you all

Hi munnin

I don't know your exact model, however when I took my eumig880 apart I took pictures. You'll find them in the upload section here. It's called "eumig880fix.ppt" or something like that. Maybe you can use some info from that.
If not, what I do know from taking apart another eumig and a bolex, is that the screws were hidden. if you have a plate with text on it, if there is a strange "up-side-down cup", search there for the screws.

good luck

rollef.

Are you sure it's a 310 you have? I seem to recall a Eumig 831, the little brother of the 880, 861 and 881 that I love so much.

On the 831, I think the lens comes out quite easily on that camera. It almost looks like it's one piece when it comes out. The zoom is not meant to be fast on that camera, I don't know why.

in fact it is a 128XL... don't ask how I came up with a 310... (canon on my mind I guess)

:D

a«I will be opening it one of these days :twisted:and, if possible, take pictures of it... I'll let you know how it went.

lol.. hi ;)

I have 2 of these cameras.. both have lens problems! they were both in excellent condition except for back focus.. one died after I tried to work on it, the other is at the repair shop you told me about.. For the money I would spend on gas (and time) to get it back, I could buy another one from ebay.de :|

looks like a great camera but.. :|

Anyway, I bought a eumig 880 after my two 128xl's, and it works great!
