viewing vintage super 8 films

Post by MickV »

I have a bag full of vintage (30-40+ years old) family super 8 films. Most of these are on the original 75mm reels. Should they be ok for viewing on a projector or should they be converted to digital because of there age? There is also quite a few larger reels consisting of films that have been spliced together. I am assuming they may be trickier to view as due to there age the spliced joins may come apart. I am hoping to avoid the whole cost of converting, and would love to watch these films the way they were when i was a kid, through my Dads projector on a screen.

thanks in advance!!
