Tri-X and Plus-X service at Gauge Film in May

Post by gaugefilm »

Ok, an update on my B&W service! It's a go, go, go!

I have been developing some of my own Tri-X films over the past month using D-19 with good results. However I need some B&W experts to help me out for my first month of commercial processing. Mostly I want people that are used to B&W film stock to give me feedback (and I don't mean eBay feedback). I mean I need some helpful customers to critique the service and perhaps not be to sharp if their films don't come out absolutely perfectly this first month! Personally I've only ever used colour (because I could process it myself) and thus I am new to B&W. Although I must say I'm quite pleased with my results so far!

So the plan in May is to sell 12 processes, hopefully to some helpful people on here! As soon as the processes sell out I will develop your films whilst testing out some D-19 parameters. That is to say I need to test how far a liter will safely go and how long you can keep the chemicals mixed. I've been told you can keep them mixed for up to 2 weeks and that you can do 12 films safely with one liter.

Who's up for helping me test these theories? The listing will be up on the 1st of May and I would be grateful for your help. The processing cost will be £10.99.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kev

I'll be glad to give it a go!

I've shot quite a bit of Tri-X over the last year or so and i'm fairly accustomed to how it looks. I wish Plus-X was still available though....oh well.

Just picked up a mint condition Canon Autozoom 1014 Electronic so I'll give that a whirl with Tri-X.

Will keep an eye on your e-bay page.

All the best

Simon

Thanks you sir! Your help is very much appreciated!

The 1014 is fantastic. My own camera is the younger brother (the 1014xl-s) and it's a delight to use.

Thanks again Simon

Could you send me some pricing info? I'm trying to talk a client into shooting his upcoming music video in Plus-X 16mm or Tri-X Super-8.
I may sound stupid, but I hide it well.

Hi Wado1942

It's £10.99 a film. However it's a UK service only I'm afraid because I can only deal with a small volume of film.

Thanks
Kevin
