100D - Indoors - Artificial light - An Example

Post by Andersens Tears »

Here is a short film shot on 100D super 8 at 24fps with a Canon 514XL-S and no conversion filter.

Johan Malmsten has filmed, the moon some electric lamps, flames and a computer screen with this daylight balanced filmstock.

Hey,
Thanks for the video.

I was wondering if you would know how much ASA is this film?
if its just 25asa like I read somewhere, how can you film indoors? (wouldn't it be completely dark ?)

Thanks in advance!

The effective speed of 100D becomes 25ASA when the correct conversion filter is used.

Without a filter it is 100ASA but most artificial lighting would result in images that are very red. However modern lights can mimic sunlight.

Hi! The film was shot with the Ektachrome 100 daylight balanced film - rated at 100asa without a conversion filter.

Hope this helps!

The clip looks good. Did you use day light balanced bulbs or color correct for the red in post?

Hi! As far as I know that bulbs were standard - but I am not 100% certain.(I did not shoot the footage)
There was no correction made in post.
