LED Flat panel light.

Post by bakasutchi »

Hello, I am interested in buying a flat panel LED light for filming super 8 indoors. I am planning on using it with my Canon 814xl-s which has a 220 shutter and a hot shoe mounting point on the top of the camera. I wonder if anyone has had any experience using a flat panel as a supplementary light source, are they bright enough? I would probably use either Kodak 200 or 500 vision 3. Any info on particular models or manufacturers would be useful. Thanks, Stuart.

i've used the litepanel camera light and it gives you quite a bit of punch. they're not as soft as you'd think, the beam is narrow enough that you get vignetting with a wide angle. as fill it works well even with slow stocks but if you want to use it as key and not have to shoot eyes and noses only 500 iso is probably a good idea.
