Scotness started a thread asking anyone to name a successful indie film. On that note does anyone know if The Dead Next Door made a profit?
The wikipedia for the film says it was made for "next to nothing." On the other hand I've heard it called the most expensive super8 movie ever made. The figure $285,000 is in my head but I can't verify that. Maybe I'm too middle class (or just plain poor) but that sounds like a lot more than "next to nothing."

These are not mutually exclusive. I'm sure the most expensive super 8 movie is still 'next to nothing' in the grand scheme of things. The wikipedia for the film says it was made for "next to nothing." On the other hand I've heard it called the most expensive super8 movie ever made.

Re: The Dead Next Door
Having just looked it up on imdbPro, they quote an estimated cost of 75,000 dollars. Unfortunately, they don't have any box office takings (or DVD sales figures, for that matter). I guess 75k makes it 'next to nothing' when compared to other feature films, but it's a lot more than I could afford.
