Looking for 'other' video hosting websites

Post by Patrick »

Ive been using Youtube a fair bit lately for uploading videos but I would like to know of other similar websites which offer better quality. And it doesn't have to be super 8 specific sites...I would like to upload some material that was originally shot on video. Would anyone have any sugestions along with urls?

Vimeo.com is a good one, you can now host Hd projects as well.

GoogleVideo's ok - loads of space, slow to upload, not very well placed in the search engine, and the statistics are a bit suspect - but they don't check the content much - if at all. I've three mashups there - one gets watched, sporadically, and the other two don't. So it helps if you have a commonly searched-for term (in this case 'Zorro') in the title.

I'd agree - Vimeo is excellent or use Blip.tv - we use them for the onsuper8.org podcast.

I really like the blip.tv site. We started to use it for embedding our videos after seeing it used at onsuper8.org.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Ive decided to join the Vimeo revolution. My only content on there at the moment is video originated material (wolf spider footage) but oneday, I will upload some super 8.
