Focusing Canon 310XL

Post by gabrielborner »

Hello!
This issue has certainly been discussed previously but I would very much like some more in-deep info to it.
As the Canon 310XL lacks split image focusing it's tricky to focus (?). Could someone give advices how to focus with and without the C3 wide lens. I'mll try to capture some pictures in low light situations. In hospital, theatre (operating room) where there isn't much time/possibility to use measuring tape.
Thanx, gabriel

The options are a tape measure or to just guess.

Or you could try out a laser measure? Laser Tape Measure?
Not sure what they call them as they go by so many names.
You can get them from £10.00.

Good luck!
Chris.

When using the C-8 wide angle attachment, set the lens to infinity and lock the cam into macro. No other adjustments are necessary. You may have issues with focus when using the wide in very low light situations(ie. iris at fully open).
When using the camera without the wide attachment in low light, a tape measure would certainly help. Otherwise keep the zoom at the wide end and ballpark the focus and you should be fine.
