Rolls that came back Black from the Lab

Post by oslobeach »

Hi

Does anyone have any rolls of Super8 that came back totally black that they would like to send to me? I need a few rolls to black in between some shots on something I'm working on.

Thanks

Who would admit to that? 8)

I like to run a few feet of film with the lens cap on or put my hand over the lens to have some totally black footage for just such a use, and to eliminate the sometimes funky footage at the very beginning of a cartridge.

I have to admit I once did.
I even shot a complete cartridge with a closed shutter.
It was the first time I used my Nikon R10.
The black film should be somewhere in my studio.

I've never done it, but my grandfather shot a few rolls of R8 where one half was shot with the lens cap on by mistake (non-reflex camera)....the family used to refer to it as "the intermission".

Good luck in your search for black film!

I have to admit I once did.
Many years ago I could not attend my wife's sister's wedding. My wife went along with our S-8mm camera. I had showed her how to use it and felt confident she would get some good images because she has a pretty good eye for shooting stills. After processing all four rolls came back blank with a note from Kodak explaining that none of the rolls had been run through a camera! Somehow my wife managed to put the cartridges in wrong somehow... I never did figure that one out.
