Hated the Philip Glass. While I can see what drew you to the music, the
problem is that the music immediately had me thinking about and drawing
comparisons to the movie its from. I'd suggest not using music from an
original film score. There about a hundred great pieces of classical
music you could use that are in the public domain.

Loved the long CU shot of the man walking and the stuff in the cabin. Would
like to see a longer shot of the plane takeoff and more shots of the view from the flight.

I loved the video, although I hnated the Philip Glass music. What model of aeroplane was this?

Convair CV-580

I thought it looked all well done. Nice sequences, well aligned with the music. Character of the music goes well with shaky camera and plane vibrations which must be there. :) The end is somewhat undefined. Wonder how all went further.

I suppose it is a flight over the Cascades. Or was it shot while travelling?

...yes. Convair 580....1952 (??) I think Maybe 1948..

I figured the Philip Glass music might pass as an inside joke among filmmakers. (then again how could it with no context, right?) Not sure I want the peice to stand as a joke though. I do like the footage and will probably use it for something.

Those are the Olympic mountains from over Puget SOund.
Thanks for the replies.

I thought it looked and sounded nice too. Found the doings with the refrigerator like object a bit strange.
Kind regards,

I am by no means an authority but here are my thoughts:

Kodachrome looks good.

I found it more interesting durring close up shots, the wide shots seemed to last a little too long.

Felt like I should know who that pilot is for some reason... like this was a historical documentary of someone known in flight circles.

The outside shot of the plane was interesting since I expected to see your reflection and I never did... that was good work.

Had my sound off so I didn't notice the music. First thought was the opening scene takes quite a while for something to happen, but then I wasn't hearing the soundtrack so that would certainly effect my sense of time.

I wanted to hear the pilot talking about flying in a voice over...

Just some thoughts... cool to see someone actually cut and post a piece here.

Nice job

Hi,

I felt this was a nice job, except that colors were a little blueish in some situations. Really cool plane views, and inside views are also OK.
Also (but it's not up to you) Youtube compression is poor at certain times, which type of file did you upload ?

Again, Nice job ...

Fred.

Thanks for the responses. They are very helpful for me when making revisions. I appreciate it when people take the time to post them.

RE: technical

I have not noticed a blueish cast to the images. I color corrected the one telephoto shot of the pilot's face walking on the ramp. It was very red so I pulled from red to green there. I did not use the 3way color corrector as I just learned yesterday would have allowed me to pull only in the mid-tones. (still learning here)

I uploaded a best quality 320 X 240 Mp4 with 16bits and 48khz. The file was about 125mbs.

Keep your eyes on YOuTube though. Check out this article.
