Super 16 Documentary I'm working on, xferred on Sniper 16

Post by Justin Lovell »

Hey guys,

Thought some of you might be interested, a link to a doc that I'm working on right now. Transfered on the sniper 16 with some custom modifications downstream.

Really happy with the registration on it... it's way more solid than the comparison that I've had done on the Rank from another local telecine house!! (thanks Roger!!)

Wow! Looks just great. Nice lighting, nice color. Very sharp. And, yeah, realllly solid registration. Gotta love those Eikis.....

Very classy!

So when you edit Super 16mm do you go for the full width, between the sprocket holes, or the full height? (I know it's a daft question, sorry :) )

cheers

I shot this super 16, so transfered it SD 4x3 full width. There was some double perf film stock in the mix, hence the sprocket holes.

Not sure if I will be matting it with a letterbox or not. I want it to stand out from the video footage. Though.. we framed the video footage (interviews) for 16:9 so the headroom would be a little awkward if I didn't letterbox that stuff. It's either going to be all 4x3 full frame, or all 16:9 letterboxed.
