You will be missed.

My hometown newspaper published an article about my long career in motion pictures:

http://www.thesunnews.net/sunscene.php3?idkey=6590

Unfortunately, my health continues to deteriorate, as I cannot get enough fluid through my blocked small intestine to stay hydrated. I am down to only 119 pounds from my pre-cancer weight of 172. I need to sleep over 12 hours per day, and am very fatigued during my waking hours. I am still able to get around my home on very wobbly legs. Hospice is likely soon.

John that was a great article to read - you've got some great achievements there - not just in the industry - but for the environment as well - giving that technology away is a wonderful thing to do - and the kind of thing we need more of if we're to keep this world going.

My favourite thing I read there though was developing the transmitter for the drive-in - I bet you that's why Kodak gave you the job - they would have been impressed with that kind of ingenuity and ability.

I guess life isn't always fair, but it can be full and worthwhile - and your's certainly has been. Thank you for your contribution John, and may you approach the future with the same character as you did the rest of your life.

Kind regards

Touching article. With time as precious as it is, thank you for continuing the small format film dialogue. I only hope I can get my Ektachrome 100D (regular 8) back from my shooting in Canada to share it with you online.

Many thanks for the wisdom you have shared over the years on this forum.

Cheers,
Mike

What an impressive resume and an inspiration to all of us ! I've worked in drive in projection booths since the 70's and had no idea who to thank for radio sound.Made my work alot easier not having to fix broken speakers when folks drove off with them.

John you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love and light,

Marty

What a fantastic story.
John, I'm certainn that the reward that awaits you on the other side will be great. If you have lived your life to the exemplary, so to shall be your estate in heaven. I'm sure that you and your acheivements will be celebrated long, long after you pass from mortality. May the Lord bless and keep you and yours in your final days upon this earth.
