How many feet are current members shooting?

Post by super8man »

So, just how much film do people on this board shoot in any given time period these days??? Seems since the demise of K40, the numbers have shrunk dramatically...perhaps super 8 is in a downward spiral like those monkey show in that television commercial???

Of any movie film, and to help you all out, include your 35mm stills as well. Video and digital don't count.

Me, about 50 feet a month of super 8 at least during slow periods...travelling reaches about 10 carts per trip...multiple trips per year...

I have only shot about 10 50ft reels this year. But I'm planning on shooting another 4 - 5 carts for the FIC contest.

I just ordered 10 carts to capture a cross-continental road trip at the end of the month. That brings me to about 1500 feet of S8, plus another 100 ft of R8, and 800 ft of 16mm.

It's been a fun year so far. :)

Year to date:

I would say somewhere around 60 rolls of S16. Most of those were for one project back in January. Otherwise it would be pretty meager.

S8--Yikes maybe 10. I am going to be shooting some in the next couple weeks if all goes as planned.

I have been shooting a lot of stills lately and hopefully more through the Winter.

Right now I am on the war path to track everything down so I can give my reel a good make over.

Good Luck

I'm making a short film for a contest, suppose to join this year but now have to join in next year...

Because of that, I'm using 3 carts this and next Sunday. And the other 2 maybe mid of November.

5 will be shoot at the end of November.

I don't care if it is K40 or E64T or anything, as long as it's film, it brings me fun and joy!!

Due to my father being in ill-health from February until August and uncertainty over what the future might hold I didn't shoot much film this year.

Super 8: 4x K40, 2x 100D, 1x 64T.

Reg 8: 2x K25

Plus my 10 feet of "Pass the Cart" :)

30 400' rolls of 16mm. this is normal.
30 rolls of stills. this is less than usual.

This year I shot my last three k40. I've planned two shorts for shooting the coming months. I ordered 15 carts for it.

I have shot 40 super8 carts since the begining of this year :

- 14 K40 (the last ones...)
- 2 vision 200 T + copy by Amdec
- 17 E64T
- 4 Wittner 100D (Ekta 100D) -> a very nice stock !
- 3 plus X

I will finnish a roll of Wittner 50 D in a few weeks.

That is a little more bit than usualy : I use to shoot about 35-36 carts/year.

All that for amateur purpouse...

So far this year, only about 6 carts of S8. :(
But I am planning for a S8 short that will bump that number up.

I have been shooting much more stills than usual. This summer, I purchased a couple of medium-format TLRs, and inherited a couple of 35mm SLRs and a rangefinder. I put aside the digital camera, and switched all of my stills to film. To date: 7 rolls of 35mm, 6 rolls of 120 film. (My good camera went in for repairs/clean/lube, so that number will go up faster when it's back.)

I'm at 12x50' rolls s8, 2x100' 16mm. Got three music videos coming up, which'll probably up it to another 13 rolls of s8 and 500' of 16mm.
