Where did you find the AXM100?Seppo.T wrote: AXM100
Two cameras I'd love to get:
The Single 8 AXM100 - this one runs at 20 fps, right? and
The S8 Zeiss Ikon Moviflex older one that runs at 18fps only.

Just another dirty(literally!) and cheap find at a flea market in a small rural town. Capstan was heavily stuck but now it runs nicely. 1.2/11mm fixed focus and 20fps, right.Lunar07 wrote:Where did you find the AXM100?Seppo.T wrote: AXM100

Perhaps, but like gasoline and big SUVs, ultimately, I fundamentally respect the people's right to buy what they want in whatever quantity they desire. Now, sure, I laugh a t both the camera guys with cameras that no longer have film for them just as I do the SUV drivers and $3 gasoline. Ultimately, moods change and people follow accordingly.hassan wrote:I don't appear to have pissed off anyone recently... It stikes me that if people spent less money buying and hording cameras they might have enough cash left to stop whinging about the price of Small Format. And of course been able to buy more K40 then it might not have been discontinued.
while i tend to agree, in my case i bought all my gear in a time when i could afford both cameras and subscriptions as well as lots of travel, good food and designer clothes. i.e. when filmmaking was still just my hobby. damn those stupid career choices... ;-)hassan wrote:It stikes me that if people spent less money buying and hording cameras they might have enough cash left to stop whinging about the price of Small Format.
this point of view always sets me wondering. would it be ok if people threw their trash in your back yard too? you do realize that these people actually *burn* their gasoline and dump it on you? i don't mind them *buying* the stuff either...super8man wrote:Perhaps, but like gasoline and big SUVs, ultimately, I fundamentally respect the people's right to buy what they want in whatever quantity they desire.
Um, OK, I have no idea what you are trying to say (lost in translation).mattias wrote:wow, this thread is dead...this point of view always sets me wondering. would it be ok if people threw their trash in your back yard too? you do realize that these people actually *burn* their gasoline and dump it on you? i don't mind them *buying* the stuff either...super8man wrote:Perhaps, but like gasoline and big SUVs, ultimately, I fundamentally respect the people's right to buy what they want in whatever quantity they desire.

um, ok, maybe you should try harder? i'm not arguing against your point, just saying that the problem with people buying lots of gasoline isn't that they *buy* it but that they *burn* it, which is not mainly their problem but yours.super8man wrote:Um, OK, I have no idea what you are trying to say
Oh god fucking damn, not another fucking "cause" thread.mattias wrote:wow, this thread is dead...this point of view always sets me wondering. would it be ok if people threw their trash in your back yard too? you do realize that these people actually *burn* their gasoline and dump it on you? i don't mind them *buying* the stuff either...super8man wrote:Perhaps, but like gasoline and big SUVs, ultimately, I fundamentally respect the people's right to buy what they want in whatever quantity they desire.

Sony BVC-3000P Trinicon + required betamax-stuff for that cool "home video look".
