The new Kodak Alaris has a web site. Everyone needs to go there and start asking them to bring back EKTACHROME! If they get enough response maybe they will do something about it.

This new division of Kodak doesn't include motion picture, only the still market. If your just talking about slide film, there's still Fuji Velvia.

EDIT : well , never mind , I had a comment about that , but I just saw T-Scan's post that Kodak Alaris is only still film, not motion picture film.

Ektachrome 100 D ? Yeah, ok, but I'd also put in a good word for bringing back B & W Plus X in Super 8 reversal. Are they really set up to produce "niche" market products like this ? I'm telling you if I had access to Plus-X again I'd start shooting more Super-8 . Never realized how much I would miss it until it was gone. I'm glad we still have Tri-X , but it's a bit too grainy for my tastes. Plus-X is slow , but when the lighting conditions are right , it's so beautiful.

I left a comment on their blog site. I know Kodak is still doing motion picture film but Kodak Alaris is supposed to be doing consumer film, whatever that means. If they brought back Ektachrome at least the stock would be there for someone to make 8mm film from. I would like to continue using it as slide film for my View-master camera as well, it looks just as good in the 3D reels as it does as a motion picture film.

Someone did respond to my post on the Kodak Alaris blog and pointed me to a petition on Change.org. It looks like they need to get the word out better to get more people to sign it. Here is the link:

It concerns me that the company didn't hire a design studio for the logotype.

There's a jarring disconnect between the letter A in Kodak and Alaris. That said, the new Kodak logotype is a mess anyway. The A looks like a backwards Russian B (Kodбk) and I find it hard to read without the sense that someone made a mistake.
