Bauer A512 - single frame shutter speed?

Hi everyone, some time ago I took my Bauer A512 back to action and now I'm hoping to to shoot some timelapse with it. However, there is one question I haven't been able to find an answer to: what is the shutter speed when shooting single frames? Can it be calculated from the shutter angle (180)? My ...

Re: Think about making prints

Just ordered today a super-8 print made of 7x15m super-8 negatives. I'm really excited to see how it looks! Some Fuji 64D, 500D, Vision3 200T and 500T. Later in the Autumn I'm hoping to do as the second batch other 6x15m from the last summer. Super-8 is just so much easier to carry around and the pr...

Re: Shipping films UK to Europe... how ?

Just to add something to my post above: a few years ago I did send some super-8 negative film to Andec. I had attached those Kodak stickers "Do not x-ray. Do not ship if x-ray mandatory. Contact sender immediately." to my package. At some point I noticed that my packages weren't moving acc...

Re: Shipping films UK to Europe... how ?

A few years ago I contacted different courier companies to ask about the x-ray. All of them answered that they usually do x-ray all shipments, even those send through land routes in Europe. Fedex doesn't x-ray all, but does random checks. One larger company I contacted would have offered to use snif...

And then there is CPC in Ukraine -- which, while not offering super-8, offers quite a good price for 35mm prints: http://www.cpc.kiev.ua/pricing

Re: a visit to the Ferrania production facility

Nicola Baldini writes on Flickr ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/ishootfilm/discuss/72157630192838072/page5/ ): "Hello guys, no news does not mean bad news. Just a little bit late with our schedule to start the production. Sorry for the low profile in communications but for the moment it is our s...

Unfortunately it isn't even available, apparently the footage above was shot on some test material by Pro8mm.

Re: What reversal Super8 films do you use?

It's a shame that for many 16mm doesn't seem to be convenient since at the moment 16mm AGFA 200D color reversal is the cheapest choice -- at least when buying bulk. When buying 10 cans of 732 meters the price is only about 500 euros per can, that is 0.68 euros per meter. For 2½ minutes @ 24 fps i...

Re: a visit to the Ferrania production facility

That report was over a year ago. I have seen no new information for some time. A more recent report would be useful.--John S. Over a year ago? "The following pictures should have recorded our visit on Jan. 31 2014, along with their captions." / "Es folgen nun einige kommentierte Foto...

Re: Need advice:Finally can have any camera I want! WHICH ON

If it is a major purchase that has been greenlighted, I'd wait for this http://www.logmar.dk/ :D However, was I to choose from the list below, I think I'd go for a Canon 814 XL-S. The examples I have seen shot with that camera have looked quite nice (according to this test the lens sharpness is with...

Re: Thailand & Taiwan & Singapore 1970's Super 8mm

My friend has been lately busy with his new 2K film scanner. His plan is to build it first for super-8 and 16mm, but later he intends to modify it to accept 35mm as well. The scanner is built around Kodak KLI-2113 and LED lightsource. The basic principle is following: http://alhoslab.fi/pic/aijaijai...

Re: Digital super 8 cartridge

How come this April's Fool joke is still circulating? http://blog.nextfabstudio.com/weekly-staff-picks-april-1-2012 I mean, the photos of the cartridge are 3D renderings, not actual photos of the product. There is no video, even though on that site it is mentioned. There is no such sensor as the one...

Re: SMPTE Timecode

Carl, would it be possible for you to share your implementation(s) as open source? I think it could encourage people to use neg->print route on 16mm instead of just scanning. Apparently there is/was DTS for 16mm, but since it is very much proprietary solution both hardware- and softwarewise, it woul...
