Re: Kodak Factory Film

Well, there's no mistaking super-8 for some new digital camera.. ;)

Anyway, nice footage! It always warms my heart when film people really use film to sell ... well, film.

Re: Will there be a new & improved Super 8 cartridge?

Looking through the product change notices (http://motion.kodak.com/US/en/motion/Pr ... efault.htm) it doesn't seem to be a recent change so quite probably it's just a change in catalogue numbering.

Quarz DS8-3

Hello! I decided to test my "new" Quarz DS8-3 during my vacation with some Foma film. Now I'm left wondering: did I miss something or is my camera broken? It seems the film on the take up spool isn't getting wound tightly enough, thus when opening the camera the daylight spool is of no pro...

While some have had rather bad experiences with Pro8mm, I got to say this (reversal) development looks sweet: https://vimeo.com/164822714 :ymapplause:

Re: No news from Ferrania is not good.

Was expecting some movement by this time last year. Just went onto the Ferrania page, the last update was February, we are now in May :-o . Now I know what a mountain these good people are scaling, but can't they drop us a few hints or just snaps - even digital ones - once a month? I've been ready ...

Re: Another Analog Funeral

http://www.japancamerahunter.com/2016/03/film-news-fujifilm-discontinues-peel-apart-instant-film/ When I first started this business about 5 years ago, Fuji FP-100 and the variants of such were reasonably popular, but professionals were no longer asking for it. I had been working for a large photo s...

Re: Another Analog Funeral

Apparently its production was stopped 2012, so in a sense it was buried already.

Re: Kodak Super8 revival - Media coverage

They ARE making it easier and simpler with will help people get into it...should be an interesting year! Exactly this. For most people the thought of loading film and having the chance of ruining exposed footage is terrifying. Super-8 is in that sense really easy to use. Now, with a new reliable ca...

Re: New Kodak Super 8 Camera Preview

Nah, Kodak could axe anything it wants without doing anything else than mentioning it on their catalog page . If Kodak wanted to kill Super-8, they'd only need to put it into a "Discontinued Listing" for that month. No need for any elaborate schemes costing them precious marketing money. T...

Re: Kodak Super8 revival - Media coverage

Anyway -- regarding the positive attitude in media: just today the biggest newspaper in Finland published an rather positive article on analog making a comeback. The focus of the article is on photography, but the (young) person interviewed has also shot some 8mm and 16mm film. They also mention the...

Re: Kodak Super8 revival - Media coverage

The only negative comments I've seen are in photography forums and other retro tech forums. Strange that the very people who have been asking for a new super 8 camera for 20 years, are now crying that it's either too expensive, or not expensive enough, or it's awful because it doesn't contain Featu...
