Re: First Time Out With the K3

Nice results, Chris! Love the caffinol results I'm so glad to see some K3 posting that's not "my k3 doesn't work..." I got myself a k3 many many years ago, shot one nice roll with it and liked how it felt, but the second roll lost its loop and rather than troubleshoot I just shelved it in ...

Re: Kodak Price Increases

Drop on by, when you're in town. We have a fridge full of Super 8 and 100ft rolls of 16mm (we try to cary at least 10x of each available Kodak stock) Miles Sprietsma I will for sure... looks like you've got HD transfers on the horizon as well! Any rough, non-binding estimates as to your rates, arti...

Re: Kodak Price Increases

If you buy direct from Kodak with the (30%!) educational discount (if you qualify, but ALL students, faculty, staff should qualify), Vision 3 Super 8 cartridges currently come to $16.52 per unit. just sayin' also, I work at the NW Film Center in Portland Oregon, and we sell Super 8 and 16mm (100ft ...

Re: Logmar beta camera update "First metal parts are arrivin

Kodak keeps forgetting it's not a monopolistic dinosaur anymore. Boy that corporate mentality is hard to shake. I work for a little company that does work for a huge corporation and there's no agility at all in that setup. It's too bad, of course, that Kodak has to learn this the hard way. On the o...

Re: All initial 40x Logmar Super 8 cameras have been pre-sol

Super exciting! People WANT to shoot film -- they want to shoot super 8 film -- and they will invest in a serious mechanism to do it. For a professional this is a nice little device to keep in your gig bag, for the amateur, it competes with stuff like the "digital bolex", which is more exp...

Logmar Super 8 release in December: Wired Mag

VERY nice article today in Wired. I gotta say "unfortunately" Pro8 is distributing, but they do seem to be the big boys' portal to super 8.

BH deal on doubleperf 16mm film

Hmmm.... am I reading this wrong or is BH photo selling 20 400-ft rolls for two hundred bucks plus free shipping???
I added one to my cart, still looked like that was the price.

Re: Huge Price Increase for Super 8 Film

I don't think it necessarily means the death knell. Remember they put up the prices of all the other stocks when they cancelled 100D in December 2012. Prices for super 8 carts have been increasing across the board, including repackaged stock available through other companies. The current prices for...

Re: 100 d kodak on ebay ?

What do you guys think IS a good price for a roll of 100d?
Personally, I have two unopened refrigerated rolls that I probably will not shoot - my cameras don't seem to like them -- I'd like to sell them and get some triX

Re: Indy 500 16mm Artist Film

I watched this with no sound (at work *ahem...* ) and actually found it very beautiful. The frames in this film are masterly and the use of slow motion is really very interesting. Maybe it's different with sound. You can tell where the bolex comes in right away, but both cameras give very nice image...

Re: Logmar S8 footage revealed!

Very beautiful but yes, I agree with Andreas, it's a bit soft. Everything else seems so perfect, I wonder if it was operator error?
