The Muslims are the only ones that pop gaskets at such things. Everyone is fair game in political cartoons and as a Christian, we get it all of the time. Has anyone seen Jesus portrayed as a pothead on T-Shirts in some of the stores here in America? You don't see the Christians rioting, burning tow...

If I was to have a certain ‘toy’ of a well known character on tv as my star in my short film, getting beaten up and dying – would that be a problem.
I can assure you the viewer will be entertained. I suppose I bought the toy and it’s mine to do whatever with… I hope.

We have the classic bottles in Melbourne also. They’ve been around for a while. I’m sure you would be able to find it in Brisbane.

They might not pay you, but I do believe that they will grant permission. It would be silly of them not to.

It’s interesting how the structure time frame of a short film becomes so vital to its success. A story needs as much time as it requires. I find the shorter the film, the harder it is to make it work – for the simple fact that you need a certain amount of time to actually tell the stor...

Good stuff. The music really works well with it. I think it's the shortest film i've ever watched.

It's not just Batman and Star Wars that can be read as a heros journey. Even a film like Krystof Kieslowski's "Red" can be read as a hero's journey. She (the central character) is the most potent kind of hero the way I see it. She uses her moral compass to navigate the world, but then dis...

Haven't read it all yet, but certainly it is nowhere near as bad as most people on this thread are making out. I never said that it was a bad script. I’m only here trying to help out and give Scott some constructive feedback. I believe that’s the reason he posted on the forum in the f...

I never was able to get a copy of Super 8 Stories. I don’t think it was released in Australia and I wasn’t able to get it from anywhere else. I love Kusturica’s work, and would have liked to see what he had done with Super 8. I think he had a 35mm lens mounted on a zm4008 â€â...

Scott, I don’t think it’s a matter of editing it down. Even if you cut down the beginning of the film, there still isn’t much of a plot. Don’t take this to heart – I’m trying to be as constructive as possible. I don’t think there is a ‘short fil...

Emir Kusturica Doco - Super 8?

I own a copy of Emir Kusturica’s Underground film which is from France. It is a boxed set and has a special features disc which has a behind the scenes doco on it. What I love about it is that it is shot on film, and I’m fairly sure that it is Super 8 (it has a lovely grain quality to ...

Serif type is generally used for novels because it ‘guides’ the eyes with the ‘horizontal’ line it creates. This is common practice. It doesn’t mean that you can not use san serif; but generally speaking san serif will tire your eyes when it comes to large chunks of ...
