Re: Vision 3 500T (in super 8) is available through Kodak!
What's the main difference between vision2 and vision3 500t? Is it something in the color or contrast they change? What is it?

Too bad is only US... What are the prices they offer for other stocks? You can only go to the store if you sign up..

How can you see how old cartridges are?
I recently bought 10 cartridges of Vision2 200T on ebay from a film company that had too many cartridges in stock. They were selling cartridges in batches of 10 and 20 items. They said they kept the cartridges in temperature controlled rooms. Now, just out of curiosity, I wanna know how old these ca...

Re: Super 8 in Paranoid Park, and other Q
I think you mean the amount of slow motion compared to 24fps, instead of "seconds".. If you want ultra slow motions, get the ZM4, but the ZMII will get you a pretty extreme slow motion too... I remembered this video, shot with a ZMII: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBpic53rdfY There are so...

Wow, how can they sell Vision2 at just €13 compared to €17 to Tri-X?? I thought neg stocks were more expensive than BW reversal...

Re: S8 sample of Ballet Perfromance
I already saw the clip on cinematography.com and I think it looks really nice. Did you use any grain reduction filters or anything like that in post? The footage looks amazingly clean.. Some of the best s8 I've ever seen..

Re: Fu***ngs jackass who sniped that auction
I've had some ebay battles too. That's just what it is.. I once interchanged the winning bid 6 times in the last minute.. You have to get a feeling for how other people bid and sometimes just bid more than what you think you would have to bid..

Re: I lost the ground glass knob of my Beaulieu ZMII...
They were indeed on vacation.. :) Nonetheless, I was able to contact mr van der Does the other day, and apparently he works at the university I go to! So I was able to drop my Beaulieu off at his office and explain him what was wrong with it. He seemed very knowledgeable about these cameras and I'm ...

Re: Airport X-Ray Report
at Amsterdam airport they told me x-rays would only harm film stocks with higher asa's than 1000.. I've never had any problems with super8 and x-rays..

Re: I lost the ground glass knob of my Beaulieu ZMII...
I tried calling 'de-snek' several times today and yesterday, no one picked up, the phone just kept ringing. I also sent an email, no reply yet. Do you know Mr. van der Does? Does he have a lot of experience with Beaulieu's?

Re: Rating Tri-X?? Im confused with the packaging..
Thinking of this, I think now that the UV-rays theory makes no much sense... Lots of people use a UV filter to protect the lens. Yeah that was my first reaction too.. But it doesn't necessarily need to be UV radiation which influences the film, it could be other wavelengths of the electromagnetic s...

Re: Rating Tri-X?? Im confused with the packaging..
That doesn't make sense to me, i mean, photons are photons right? What you're saying is that a lightmeter can not sense the difference in intensity between tungsten and daylight whereas kodak's tri-x film can? edit: i overlooked the uv-rays part. I didn't know uv radiation could affect film drastica...

Rating Tri-X?? Im confused with the packaging..
Ok here's one thing that I don't really get, on the tri-x package it says: DAYLIGHT (Without filter) -> EI200 TUNGSTEN (Without filter) -> EI160 But why would these values be different if you're not using any internal filter anyways? I thought the different ASA values between daylight and tungsten w...
