Re: I lost the exposure needle in my B4008ZMII

That was the short term solution indeed.

The long term solution is definitely gonna be me sending the camera to Bjorn for service after I return from my trip.

Thanks everyone for helping me out with this issue. Love these forums for that.

Re: I lost the exposure needle in my B4008ZMII

Called Mr. van der Does this morning and he told me it would be too expensive to have the camera repaired. For the amount of money that I'd need for such a long repair job I might as well spend it on a new B4008ZMII he said. So I'm pretty bummed about this. Since I was getting al my gear together fo...

Re: I lost the exposure needle in my B4008ZMII

What do you mean by the battery test? I tested the camera in all modes. Zoom motor works, auto exposure aperture works, motor of camera works.. Just no needle! 8O I also can't see it to any side of the viewfinder.. But aj, do you think Mr. van der Does would be able to fix this? I'm going to call hi...

I lost the exposure needle in my B4008ZMII

I know it's really stupid and I'm ashamed of having to mention it here, but I dropped my beloved B4008ZMII. It approximately fell 50cm (20 inches). I just got a new tripod and I accidentaly pressed the quick release handle. The camera is still fine, I have carpet in my house and it didn't hit the gr...

Re: Lens support/mattebox for B4008ZMII

Yeah i know but i have the step up ring/shade on top of the lens that takes 77mm filters. I was already thinking of making the rods myself. That's not hard to make. But the question still remains which mattebox to get. I'll have a look at those chrosziel ones on ebay. I was just curious to see what ...

Lens support/mattebox for B4008ZMII

I've recently started to shoot with other lenses on my B4008ZMII apart from the wonderful Schneider 6-66mm that came with it. I'm using Nikon SLR lenses with a nikon to c-mount adapter. I was looking into buying different filters (an external 85B and several ND filters) to use with the camera. But n...

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

I got my camera back from Mr van der Does (finally, after a couple of months) and he fixed the small things that had to be fixed. He said the fitlers looked o.k. and didnt need to be replaced. Funny thing is that the weird posts showed up when the 85 filter wasn't in place, that's when I shot with T...

Re: CRT Video Monitors for colour correction.

It depends on how seriously you wanna do color correction. I have a simple aristona 14 inch CRT monitor next to my mac to do the color correction. I have the exact setup as you. From laptop to camcorder via firewire, and via composite to the CRT monitor. It works well just to check if the colors loo...

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

I got the internal filters replaced on mine. I got the internal filters replaced on mine. I don't know how common this problem is, or how likely it is to occur / re-occur? If the spots are due to the filters, then you could just get them replaced as part of the service (it will most likely be a lot...

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

Ok thanks for your answers.

Last question to you "aj": How do you say "recolliminating" in Dutch? :P So I can call Mr. van der Does to do it..

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

So basically is it worth to have the lens recolliminated or not? I mean, how much would you notice the difference? When I'm filming surfing I always use a tripod so if it makes a real difference would it be worth it? I'm guessing it's a hard job to do and it wouldnt be really cheap.. Also, isnt the ...

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

Nice footage though, Greg. I like the quality from the Beaulieu. Thanks.. I'll post a higher quality clip when I get it properly telecined. I'm kinda disappointed though because of the spots in the frame, but hey, I guess like everything else there's a learning process in it.. If I remember correct...

Re: Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

Alright, I'll have the filters removed. My camera is being serviced now anyways, but I'm gonna call the guy to make sure he removes the filters. I'm glad it's not the lens... Thanks.

Anyone else some thoughts about the underexposure issue?

Beaulieu weird spots in frame?

So I finally sent the first set of cartridges that I shot with my B4008 for developing, and I got them back just a few days ago. It was the first time I used my Beaulieu ZMII and I was curious to see how they turned out. I shot 4 carts in total. Three 200T's and one Tri-X. I havent sent the color ne...
