Thanks my friend. I'll try to get my hands on a remote. Finding ways around various problems seems to be the best solution when working with s8 cameras. Expensive repairs just don't make sense when you can buy these things for a song on ebay.

Again thanks

NIKON super zoom problem

I've got a Nikon Super Zoom 8, which was working wonderfully until the trigger stopped turning the reel. I replaced the batteries to no avail. I think something has gone wrong mechanically. Has anyone experienced this problem? Does anyone have advice on repairing this problem? Again, thanks in advan...

Bolex 550 S8 ?

I've recently acquired a "Bolex 550 xl sound" S8 camera. I have no interest in trying to capture sound with it, but I would like to find a manual for it and would appreciate any beta on this camera.

Thanks in advance.......cheers,

I'm glad we have had this conversation. Eric, thanks for clarifying the details of the samples from your website. These samples are infact the cleanist, most beautiful S8 transfers I've seen on the web. I have approximately 16 rolls that I plan to take to Forde Motion Picture lab to be prepped for t...

Coors, There are actually two samples on the page I posted. "Sanctuary" is a mixed media project to be sure. Just above that link is another that is .....mostly S8..... There is one scene of a helicopter taking off that looks like S16 to me. I share your frustration. If they are going to c...

a beautiful s8 transfer

The following link will take you to a film to tape transfer outfit here in my home town, Seattle. I've not yet used their services, but plan to. From the site if you select super8 and then scroll to the bottom of that page you will see a sample clip that is quite impressive. http://www.fsft.com/ The...

Thanks for posting your work Andy. I'm interested in your process: what type of film format and transfer method have you used?

Again, thanks,

Steve
