Re: Exposing Vision 3 50D in various cameras

So this is all pretty confusing now. Some people are saying it is notched as 40asa, some as 64, like the 64T. I am not talking about Velvia, or Pro8mm stocks, just Kodak Vision 50D. What is it notched as exactly? This is important for the higher-end Canon & Nizo cameras for instance that can re...

Re: Beaulieu Repair manuals and others uploaded

Six months ago I approached Canon UK for copies of the manuals and my request bounced and and down, round and around Canon and the reply came back that they couldn't release them. That's frustrating. They refuse to release the service manuals , and yet they won't offer service on the cameras. What ...

Re: Beaulieu Repair manuals and others uploaded

Thanks for the upload. Does anyone know where to get repair manuals for Canon 814 Autozoom and Canon 514 XLS ? My Canon 814 AutoZoom works fine for the most part , but the auto exposure no longer functions ( I can set the manual exposure with no problem) . I tried to contact Willard Engineering abou...

Re: Buellar... Buellar... Buellar (Retro 8 Enterprises)

Hi, Retro8 is currently closed for summer vacation. Tak is or was in Turkey the last days (according to facebook). When you're in Europe, try http://www.super8.nl/ for buying single8-films. They've got 50D, 64T, 100F and Retro-X. Jörg Thanks for link to http://www.super8.nl/ . And I understand p...

Re: Buellar... Buellar... Buellar (Retro 8 Enterprises)

The retro 8 website has been updated considerably. In Japanese and in English. Perhaps the Japanese site has been updated , but Internet Wayback shows that the English site looks exactly the same in 2009 as it does today in 2013: http://web.archive.org/web/20090415102316/http://film.club.ne.jp/engl...

Re: Discussions about a hypothetical new S-8 camera

While we are waiting for Lasse to get back from vacation and presumably post some images or film clips from his prototype Super 8 camera , I wanted to point out this thread from a few years ago that I found while searching for something else last night : http://www.filmshooting.com/scripts/forum/vie...

Re: Canon 8mm, Super 8, 1014 Electronic; 518 SV; 512 Cine Zo

Repair price will depend mostly on who does the work. If that is the only problem, a fair repair price would be between $100 - $125. Jean-Louis Thank you , that's very helpful to know an estimated repair price because I would now bid accordingly on any Canon 814 or 1014 Electronic or XL model with ...

Re: Canon 8mm, Super 8, 1014 Electronic; 518 SV; 512 Cine Zo

The manual exposure control problem is pretty much guaranteed to happen to all 814 - 1014 cameras with the pull-out knob . They're not particularly difficult to repair but it will still set you back some $$$. Jean-Loui s Ok, so it is expected that the auto/manual exposure pull-out knob on the Canon...

This is after the fact , since the auctions posted at the head of this topic are over, BUT I have a question for those of you who have used the Canon 1014 ELECTRONIC: I have seen a few of these recently for pretty decent Buy-It-Now prices on eBay , but I recall reading a while back someone on anothe...

Re: Discussions about a hypothetical new S-8 camera

I know what you are saying and I "get" it. However, why "super 8"? I mean, what does "super 8" bring to the table that 16mm and 8mm doesn't bring. Since, if 16mm is too big, then, surely, 8mm must be better than super 8 since it's significantly smaller. I have 16mm cam...

Re: Super 8 USA film

I know there are a lot of posts like this but would anyone be interested in passing a Super 8 cartridge around the USA or the world and sending if from person to person with each recording no more than 10 seconds on it then sending it back to me and I will have it processed and telecined? Re: repairing Canon 514 XL-S - Does this sound familiar ?

Another Canon question, this time about Canon 814 AutoZoom (this one: http://www.super8data.com/database/cameras_list/cameras_canon/canon_814_autozoom.htm ) I'm taking my old Super-8 cameras out of storage and starting to shoot some film again. My first post above about the Canon 514 XLS was the res...
