Why shooting on Super 8? Dagie knows...

schmalfilm magazine took the opportunity to shoot a last roll of Kodachrome - a very special one: a cartridge with 60 meters of Live Sound film, produced more than 25 years ago. It was processed at the end of December 2010, in the last days of the Kodachrome era at Dwayne's, Kansas, USA. We asked 10...

Re: Very special book for Super 8 Freaks

Thanks for the nice comments. If there are any questions about the work of Lutz Auhage, please don't hesitate to send atoll medien an e-mail (info (at) atollmedien.de). We will forward this to Lutz. freedomforkids wrote: "But I guess the publishing team's initial intentions were to monetize thi...

Re: Kodachrome - Final Homage

Thanks for all your nice replies! David, I share your opinion. Kodachrome is/was a difficult process - this is the main reason for the end. And the cost-covering production of small quantities of Kodachrome film was also a great problem. We should be thankful that Kodak came up with the great Ektach...

Kodachrome - Final Homage

On Dec 30, 2010, the last roll of Kodachrome 40 Super 8 film will be processed at Dwayne's lab in Kansas, USA. Our music clip "Kodachrome" is a final homage to this magnificent material.

Re: Very special book for Super 8 Freaks

To all orderers: All copies of the book have been shipped today. It took some more time because we do have a heavy snow disaster here in Germany and the transport from the printers to our office took some more days than suggested :).

Re: Very special book for Super 8 Freaks

There has been a lot of interest for the new book written by Lutz Auhage. Because of many questions: International shipping by Air Mail is Euro 8 to any place in the world. So there is a total of Euro 47.95. The office of atoll medien told me 30 of the 100 books in English language have been sold in...

Re: Cinevia "out of the tunnel": the selling service is working

Hi Ugo,

but this is not the promised Cinevia in its own Super 8 cartridge, it is Cinevia in the Kodak cartridge, isn't it? On the website of Cinevia it is written that due to "demurrers" there is still no own Super 8 cartridge.

Who has results with Kodak Ektachrome 100D S8

Hi, for my articles in schmalfilm magazine I would be interested to get some informations about your results with the new Kodak Ektachrome 100D in the Super 8 cartridge. I am always reading about people questioning if their camera will read the notch of the cartridge correctly. But where are all tho...

Re: 8mm Avisynth film restoring script

Dear Freddy, great work - and great improvements. Congratulations! schmalfilm already put some lines into the news section on www.schmalfilm.de with your example on vimeo. Of course not everybody is interested in improving his film in this way - some may love grain and unsteadyness as this is typica...
