Did you use auto exposure with the polariser? Jean

Re: Wedding exposure & filter decisions for 5 cameras
First of all congratulations and my best wishes. My short experience with Tri-X and the AF310XL is that the camera auto exposure give excellent results. I think you will be pleased and I would not worry about the filter since It seems that you intend to transfer the results on video. Jean

Re: Canon 518 with ektachrome 100D
Very dark indeed. The results with a Canon 514XL on auto mode were excellent. I guess the 518 don't read 100 asa properly. My guess would at least one stop underexposure. Jean

Re: Ektachrome 100D Colors Look Great!
I shot with a Nizo S2 in auto mode and filter out on a sunny and lightly overcast day and the results were excellent. It is good not having to compensate for exposure when filming on the run. Jean

I am not sure but in my case I don't take the chance. It could be a good idea to make a short test. Happy shooting. Jean

A earlier Sony MZ N707 MDLPPatrick wrote:Jean Poirier: "When listening to my minidisc recordings transfered on a PC and then copied to a CD I find the difference in sound quality negligible."
Good to know! And is that one of the earlier Mini Disc recorders as opposed to the HiMD models?

Re: A quest to record good quality audio
Hello again. 44.1 sampling means CD quality. When listening to my minidisc recordings transfered on a PC and then copied to a CD I find the difference in sound quality negligible. Good luck. Jean

Re: A quest to record good quality audio
With a Minidisc you lose a generation when transfering to a PC using a minijack and analog mode. But if you upsample to 44.1 (CD quality) the sound deterioration is quite low with voice and field recordings.

Re: A quest to record good quality audio
I use a minidisc with a Sony DS70P microphone. Hard to beat for portability and ease of use. A extension cable is necessary to avoid recording the motor noise. Jean
