By golly, you're right! I never thought of that. Since 15fps and 29.97fps are so close there wouldn't be any need to interlace (frame blend). That's good to know.

Thanks

Hi Deke! Yes, I was suprised to see you join this group! It is a small web. The two options available have to do with interlacing. Usually, if you'll be watching the output on a TV, you'll want to do the 'frame blending' thing. It will make it look much smother. If it will only be played back on a c...

Scheesh.... Santo. I don't even know what to say!? How can you make such assertations against the Workprinter when you've (apparently) never had a Rank transfer done?? I think that is most unfair. I'm guessing that when you get some Rank transfers back, there will be more similarities and few differ...

Not to change the subject, but what would make Virtual Dub better than say Premiere at doing this sort of thing?

I always figured that for the work I'm doing, I would never be sure how it would end up being used. So I opted to shoot the frames full with a bit of 'unwanted' black border. This displays the most image in my monitor. I figured that for my own projects, most of the time they will be viewed on a TV ...

just for the sake of it i'm going to disagree and claiming that OSX is the simplest way to start serving files ;)... Scot, Check out Tom's. There's a good basic primer on setting up Linux: http://www.tomshardware.com/howto/20040329/index.html If you're setting up a media server, make sure you have plenty of bandwidth. You'll probably want to find an ISP that can give you a static IP address as well. To set up a se...

Re: Projected Image Area Dimensions?

Could anyone tell me what the actual image area is for 8, S8, and 16? I suppose that there are many variables, but are there any standards or averages? From what I've been able to Google, I've gotten these dimensions: S8 - 5.3mm x 4mm 16mm - 9.65 x 7.24 R8 - ?? Thanks. Dave Anderson Wow. So reading...
