Probably I'm a part of other people's weird experience. I prefter to sit in the middle of the first row, because I like to view the full screen and not a tiny TV-sized distant image, I can stretch my legs and sit comfortably, and last not least it is impossible for a 2m guy with afro haircut to sit ...

Smoking is allowed in some german cinemas, it depends on the manager. In Titanic, I enjoyed a real-time translation and commentary in a balcan-language by two girls. They looked good, but apparently were far to stupid to grasp something of the action, since they repeated almost every line, discussed...

as I said before, we don't know what that emulsion will be rated in the end. It can be 64, it can also be 40. No use neither in whining nor starting to mod cameras before we have the final carts showing up somewhere. So relax and sit back - there is nothing to do for now.

As long as the dude didn't engrave his name on the front lens.. something between $100-$150 is what I'd pay for it in the end, speculating that it will be fine to use with batteries, but what of course could turn out differently. I'd give it a try because it's the original owner of that camera, what...

Why do we all assume that the film will be rated 64ASA? It could as well be rated 40, and processed that way.. regardless what speed the same emulsion is recommended for.

I've done that with one of my 4008 than was not taken apart, and it diod just fine. I changed the speed gently from 2 fps to 18fps, and the exposure was fine and the effect funny. I suggest to invest some feet of k40 and try it..

Or b/w stock and send it to a lab, you'll have the results much faster.

Prices are difficult to judge, since the gap is so wide between the $0.99 ebay auctions and $199 that a dealer charges. While that sounds hefty, if I had to calculate possible returns including refund of shippings and a 2 year warranty for the cameras, plus my work in checking and servicing them - t...

40% seems awfully high to me. 20%, maybe 25% is the highest one should expect if the camera performs normally and the scratch does not affect picture quality. You must have disposable money floating around, what makes me seriously considering starting my own company. Seriously, the thing is like th...

This is intersting, especially since for me it is an aspect that I may have missed. Could you illustrate it with e.g. an exemplary scene? I would have stated that the movie is about relationships, both between the buddies and men and women. The male characters seemed to represent two archetypes, the...

We might confuse the terms here, but story to me is the most unimportant part of it. You can make a wonderful film without any story at all, and the same tame produce a horrible piece of junk with an incredible story. Story = what happens, like: A young man falls in love with the daughter of his fam...

I guess some of you will disagree with my decision, but it will cost me at least £18 to send the camera back in an insured parcel, and well, I'd rather keep A camera and have some money back than send a camera back and have to do the waiting game for my money ..... I don't know if this applies t...

As I said above, in the case discussed here there is no room for interpretations or anything. Andersens tears is safely protected by law, the terms stated on the shop are irrelevant, since german law clearly takes care of this and cannot be overruled by individual agreements. And that law gives you ...

Well, indeed a frustrating experience. Don't let that keep you from buying abroad in the future! BTW, you did check the contacts of the nizo? A camera that's completely dead very probably just has corroded contacts.

He gave me his address to send it back, which I did, waited for three months when the camera was "returned to sender", the address was a phoney. I had paid by direct bank transfer. Fraud for such a low priced item? Was it through ebay? His bank account sure wasn't phoney, so a way to trac...
