Re: Halogenuros - in HD

Hello, I hope you are well. The playback rate is 24 f.p.s There will be in a few days, or next week, a final technical report with tech parameters of each shot. Part of the footage was time-stretched (under-crank), always using "replicate" mode (not interpoling). Some footage was processed...

Vision3 and new TAF ??

The characteristic curve shows that there would be aprox 16 camera stop from minimal density to maximal density. This may means that in practice, we could be working, with may be around 13 or 14 stops of exposure latitude with this new 500T stock (?). With that latitude, I think it would be great th...

i don't know. i'm not that fond of having that kind of control. i like it when a stock has a look of its own, rather than having to create it in post. otherwise i might as well shoot hd. ;-) yes, the exr had very saturated blue and also brought out the reds and yellows very well. a polarizer, a des...

pro8/01 and pro8/45

hello, from my experience, the vision2 50D (through Pro8/01 release up to now, that is a reformatted stock from "5201" 35mm stock) is an excellent emultion... it present much more exposure latitude than previous EXR 50D (so nammed Pro8/45 in super-8). The new "01" stock have less...

Hello, I would recommend you to shoot all your film on super-8, the interiors would work well with the "17" vision2 200T stock with proper light base level. I have over-exposed this stock around 1/2 stop from my averaged light-exposure-readings (spot meter) with good results. I also suppot...

Hi John, Would you be happy to attend a 35mm screening of that "Halogenuros" reasearch short-film ? If so, let me know, and I could send you a 35mm print, so that you could see the film and may be share it with your friends at Kodak. Then the idea could be that this print to travel to Euro...

hello, how are you? from what I have seen on my experience with both stocks, we can see in your pictures some "electronic noise" and/or "grain exageration" due from the CRT telecine technology that was used for transfering. (as I assume you have done as workflow). but if you coul...
