Re: Super8data.com?
Thanks, David, for reminding me of two distinct Super 8 databases. The super8wiki is extensive. HTML bits and pieces of super8data.com can be found on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine,i.e https://web.archive.org/web/20141226093930/http://www.super8data.com/ Some of the links were not archived. Re: Megabyte film ?
The Gigabit web doesn't appear to have been updated since 2004. Can the developer still be purchased? What quantity would be required to process 400ft? Estimated price?

Re: Megabyte film ?
Thanks Doug! Great to see your post, Simon! Absolutely fascinating. But I am confused by the 16-0.3000 long pitch spec. This is typically used for double row 2-perf 16mm film in high speed cameras. Or was it originally designated for single row contact printers? Will this pitch correctly transport i...

Re: If Kodak get their new film/cam act together:The Superma
Needs a rethink and design. Logmar may be developing a 400 ft S8 mag for optical printing.

Re: Now This Is Something: The New Steenbeck 8mm Editing Tab
Why, Carl? Are they still utilizing polygon prisms for frame blending? I believe they now have CCD camera gate options for "live" view.

Re: Kodak awakens, new S8 camera announced at CES '16
Bloomberg reporter hints at 4K scan as part of the new Kodak one-stop-shop channel relative to the new Kodak/Logmar Super 8 camera. Calls this the flagship ($1000 US) with more models planned. I suspect that Logmar actual built the prototypes for CES2016. Which will eventually be farmed out overseas...

Re: New Kodak Film Cleaner
The new Kodak cleaner machine utilizes HFE 7200 Film Cleaner Solution which I suspect is manufactured by 3M. I found this 3M pdf which states that HFE 7200 is the same as 3M HFE 8200, i.e. http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/122856O/novec-engineered-fluids-for-film-cleaning.pdf Apparently the new 3MÃ...

Re: Regular 8 Vision 3 50D and 250D
Great news, Dennis. The 100ft R8 price is a bit high but I understand the expense involved and the razor thin " profit" margin. LIFT use to recently stock 100ft R8 E100D for approximately $56-60 CAN so your suggested pricing is not stratospheric. My preference is for the film stock only a...

Logmar is seeking interest in new Super 8 Vistavision cam
Logmar is seeking interest in a new horizonatal loading Super 8 Vistavision anamorphic camera. No threading. Approximately $2,500 US +. I calculated the proposed frame dimensions at 5.69mm (h) x 8.44mm (w) w/ AR = 1.48:1 which would be it's flat aperture but with a 2x anamorphic expands laterally to...

Re: LOOKING TO BUY: Elmo C-300 (Tri-Filmmatic Camera)
Gabe, Regarding your comments, i.e. " Thinking the C-300 might be easier to maintain also, considering the mechanism for film transport is in the magazine and not in the camera. The C-300 is also reflex (I think?) whereas the H8 is not. " Good luck on getting an Elmo C-300 serviced or repa...
